Katarina Barbara Kavčič
Dance education and work: As a child Katarina Barbara engaged in gymnastics and ballet, then began with modern dance technique at Plesna izba, and later she turned to contemporary dance. Her creative beginnings started at the Dance Centre, and later she enrolled in the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) and in 2014 completed her education with a degree in contemporary dance. During her studies, she worked with choreographers such as Martin Kilvady, Martin Nahbar, Jozef Frucek, Linda Kapetania, Paul Blackman, Antony Lacky, Konstandina Efhimiadu, Nayana Bhat, Michikazu Matsune, Matej Kejžar, Libby Farr and others. As a dancer, she has participated in many performances and festivals such as New Faces New Dances, Dance Symfonic and Szene Salzburg. Her creative expression is visible in works KATPAT, Project Mouth, Translation and her own solo creation 'Every now and then I get little bit lonely'. Katarina is a member of professional contemporary dance company Tovarishia Dance Company.
